Pranav Mohanlal is an Indian film actor. He is the son of actor Mohanlal. He won the 2002 Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in the film Punarjani directed by Major Ravi.[1] Pranav made his debut with a guest appearance in the film Onnaman, directed by Thampi Kannamthanam. Since a cameo in Sagar Alias Jackie Reloaded, Pranav has kept a distance from the film industry.

Personal life[edit]

Pranav was born in Trivandrum, Kerala, as the son of actor Mohanlal and Suchitra Mohanlal. Vismaya Mohanlal is his sister. He completed his schooling from the Hebron School, Ooty and later went to and graduated with a degree in Philosophy from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Pranav maintains a low profile lifestyle.

Career[edit]

In 2002, Pranav made his film debut as a child artist in a guest appearance in Thampi Kannanthanam directed Onnaman starring Mohanlal, he played the younger version of the character played by his father. In the same year, he made his debut as actor in Major Ravi'sPunarjani. He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in the film. In 2014, Pranav returned to film industry as an assistant director with director Jeethu Joseph in the Tamil film Papanasam starring Kamal Hassan, which is a remake of Mohanlal filmDrishyam. He then assisted him and showed face in the Malayalam film Life of Josutty (2015).
